Payments, refunds and cancellations

Paying for a website

• Work over $2,000 needs a 50% deposit before we schedule it. The balance is due before launch, and the site goes live once it is paid.
• Work at or under $2,000, the $599 simple website included, needs no payment up front. It is paid in full before launch, and the site goes live once it is paid.
• Every invoice is due 7 days after it is issued.
• Card payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your card number.

Hosting

• Hosting is $30 a month for the simple website, billed monthly in advance from launch, and charged automatically to the card you save with us.
• You can cancel at any time by writing to us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
• We do not refund part of a month, and we do not prorate.

Refunds

• Before work starts: a full refund of anything you have paid.
• Once work starts: deposits and build payments are not refundable. Work starts when we begin building from your intake.
• After launch: no refund for the build.
• Hosting: no refund for a month already started.
• If we end a project for any reason other than a breach of our terms, we refund what you paid for work we have not done.

Refunds are issued by us, to the card that paid, once you ask. Write to [email protected]. Your bank may take a few business days to show it.

When a payment fails

If an automatic hosting charge fails, we try it three times in all over 7 days, and email you each time so you can update your card or pay the invoice directly.

Late payment

• We do not charge late fees.
• At 14 days past due, we contact you about the invoice.
• At 30 days past due, we may suspend your site. A person decides that, never an automatic process, and paying the balance brings it back.
• After 30 days suspended, we may remove the site, after telling you in writing first.

Tax

Hosting is one all-in price: if tax ever applies to it, we pay it out of that price. Build prices do not include any tax that may apply. We do not currently collect sales tax. If that changes, tax on a build will appear as its own line on your invoice.

Business days

Business days are Monday to Friday, Eastern Time, excluding US federal holidays.

Questions and disputes

If a charge looks wrong, write to [email protected] before disputing it with your bank. We answer and fix billing mistakes. The full terms are in our terms of service.
